Organic before it was cool.

Branching out without selling out.

Taylor Maid Farms is the quintessential California coffee roaster, serving up fairly traded-for coffees from around the world for over 20 years.

Ready for the future.

Keeping up with changing times.

Sensing it was time to trade the crusty patchwork pants for something a bit more modern, Taylor Maid seized on the growing popularity of specialty coffee and entered the retail world with a beautiful boutique cafe at The Barlow, in Sebastopol, CA.

All of this activity was making it clear that the old brand needed rethinking. Introducing the world to a long-standing, but little-known, industry leader meant bridging the gap between the company’s long, innovative history and what consumers were looking for in a globally-minded — but hyper-local — coffee brand.

You can always go home.

More than ever, visitors are flocking to Sonoma County in droves, looking for an authentic country experience that goes beyond wine. By embracing pastoral Sonoma County and its farming heritage, Taylor Maid was able to build a story firmly rooted in a place that everyone wants to be. Linking their coffees, packaging, and retail experience with the rolling hills, reclaimed building materials, and rusty farm equipment seen countywide, Taylor Maid has staked their claim in an authentic and engaging way.

The Nitty Gritty

Taylor Maid Farms continues to grab new opportunities for growth, setting the bar for successfully scaling a homegrown operation while preserving core values, thanks in part to an authentic and well-considered brand.
